Where it is and getting around
Green Valley sits on the west side of St. George, centered on Canyon View Drive off Dixie Drive, near the Santa Clara River. It grew from a single ranch into a destination resort community starting in the 1970s, built around the Green Valley Spa. You can still see that history in the pools, courts, and ready-to-use vacation homes. To the west, the Red Bluff protected area, set aside for the rare dwarf bear-poppy, keeps the edge of the neighborhood as open desert.
| Destination | Approx. drive |

Homes you’ll find
Green Valley is one of the most condo- and townhome-heavy parts of St. George. The main sub-communities include:
- Sports Village: the original resort-condo complex from the early 1980s. Many units are sold furnished.
- Amira, Park, and the Villas: attached resort homes and condos, from studios to multi-bedroom units.
- The Lofts (late 2010s) and Vue (early 2020s): newer two-level townhomes set up for nightly rental.
- Highlands and Overlook: the single-family exceptions, with detached homes and red-rock views on higher ground.
Recent sales have ranged from well below the citywide median for resort condos to well above it for view homes in Highlands and Overlook. For reference, the citywide single-family median sale price was $563,500 in September 2026 (see the full report).
Parks, trails, and things to do
- Bearclaw Poppy Trail (Green Valley Loop): one of southwest Utah’s best-known mountain-bike trail systems, starting at the area’s western edge, with the Stucki Springs trails beyond.
- Pickleball and tennis: courts are built into several communities, including the spa, Sports Village, and Vue.
- Snow Canyon State Park is about 15–20 minutes northwest.
Short-term rental note
Green Valley has more nightly-rental options than most of St. George, but only in specific developments. The city’s approved list names Las Palmas, Point Vista Condos, Sports Village, Estancia, Amira, The Lofts, The Vue, and Worldmark (The Resort) under Green Valley. Other Green Valley addresses, including the single-family areas, aren’t on the list and fall under the standard citywide rules.
St. George allows nightly (short-term) rentals only in commercial zones, in developments named on the city’s approved short-term rental list, or on a single-family lot of two acres or more that fronts a major collector or arterial street and sits at least 500 feet from another short-term rental. Every short-term rental also needs a city business license. Always confirm a specific parcel with the city before buying with rental income in mind. See the full short-term rental guide →
